Data Analyst

About Transbefrienders:

Transbefrienders is a charity in Singapore dedicated to supporting transgender and gender-diverse youths. We provide peer support, community outreach, and educational programs to help young adults build confidence and self-sufficiency.

 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to help us measure and improve our impact on the transgender and gender-diverse community in Singapore.

 

This is an unpaid volunteer position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, clean, and analyse data from various Transbefrienders programs, initiatives and channels

  • Develop and maintain databases to track program outcomes and participant demographics

  • Create regular reports and visualisations to communicate findings to the team and stakeholders

  • Identify trends and patterns in the data to inform decision-making and strategy

  • Assist in developing metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of our programs

  • Collaborate with other team members to design surveys and feedback mechanisms

  • Ensure data privacy and confidentiality in all analyses and reporting

  • Contribute to grant applications and impact reports with data-driven insights

  • Stay updated on best practices in data analysis for non-profit organisations

Qualifications:

  • Background in Statistics, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, R, or Python

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to communicate complex data findings in simple, understandable terms

  • Understanding of data privacy and ethical considerations in handling sensitive information

  • Familiarity with LGBTQ+ issues, particularly those affecting the transgender community in Singapore (preferred)

  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness of intersectionality

Time Commitment:

Flexible schedule, ranging from 2 to 15 hours per week, depending on availability and organizational needs.

While this is an unpaid position, volunteers will gain valuable experience in applying data analysis skills to real-world social issues, develop a portfolio of impactful projects, and contribute meaningfully to the transgender and gender-diverse community in Singapore.
